backyard life
it may be a small garden but i am grateful for some land to plant things in. it's a tiny paradise with it's own pebble beach with hand picked stones (collected from many places since arriving on these shores) every stone hand picked, alot of picking people. and it was all about the process of collecting for the beauty of the rock then looking for some decorative and non space taking way to have the rocks in some place well where i could sit and pick through and admire them again and again- and extend the mini pebble beach into my unsuccessful grass growing space.
the grass was beautiful last year but did not muster it's way through winter as the ground isnt deep enough with good soil, they say you need six inches for grass- i have possibly three.
it is amazing what did come through winter intact, and what not in tact has reappeared once again in full force much earlier then last year.

mukilteo, wa 4/11/2010
a day out exploring views of a great expanse of the sound. i did not know there was a hat island. a few rocks were collected, some fossilized wood. the dog of course rolled in something- nothing visible but surely something fishy as tiggy likes the fishy and the goose shit as well. so bath for dog, then talula.
now dog happily asleep in the setting sun and poots going down, for the first time at least.
goodnight smaller family.
